Austin is a co-founder of Neurotopia and brings over 20 years of business and product development experience to the team. Austin was a co-founder of Experts-Exchnge.com, the largest knowledge sharing community in the world. Before Experts-Exchange.com, Austin was the principal of Tangent Research and Consulting where his team provided strategic project management and product marketing services to Fortune 500 companies in the Silicon Valley. Tangent Research and Consulting clients included Apple Computer, Adobe Systems, Trimbal Navigation, Palm Computing and Power Production Software. Austin also spent 10 years with Apple Computers holding various product marketing positions.
Steve has 30+ years of business experience in “C” positions and has held positions of CEO, President, COO and CFO in large and small, multi-discipline service and manufacturing companies, in both the public and private sectors.
As a CFO, Steve led three successful public offerings including two IPOs and on Reg D offerings. Additionally, Steve has successfully completed over sixty business combinations including: acquisitions, mergers, asset purchases, reverse-mergers and consolidations, and has placed senior secured and unsecured, subordinated and participated debt facilities in excess of $100MM.
Steve has extensive experience in growth organizations and turnaround situations. He has numerous successes in building teams, implementing effective systems and processes, with an emphasis on organizational development.
Dr. Sherlin leads the science and application effort of athlete brain training performance. Leslie co-founded Nova Tech EEG, Inc, a company that provides training, evaluation services and equipment/software for quantitative EEG (qEEG) analysis and imaging. He began practicing qEEG analysis and neuro-feedback clinically and has been involved in client care since 2002. Over the past twelve years with Nova Tech EEG, Dr. Sherlin has analyzed over 35,000 qEEGs. Prior to Nova Tech he was a research assistant in the Brain Research and Neuropsychology laboratory of Joel Lubar, Ph.D., a pioneer in neurofeedback. Leslie has the degrees of BA in Psychology, MS in Clinical Psychology and Ph.D. in Psychology.
Dr. Sherlin has the academic appointments and is employed as adjunct associate professor in the department of Mind-Body Medicine at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine; faculty in the department of psychology at the University of Phoenix main campus; adjunct faculty in the Department of Psychology at Northern Arizona University; and clinical faculty at Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center.
Dr. Sherlin has served on the board of directors for both the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research and the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance in a number of elected positions including the President. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Neurotherapy: Investigations in Neuromodulation, Neurofeedback and Applied Neuroscience. He is certified at the Diplomat level in QEEG and is BCIA Board Certified both in Biofeedback and Neurofeedback.
Over 30 years in the medical electronics and motion control industry, working at all levels of product development from concept definition, design and implementation to production oversight and troubleshooting. Having learned the development process through mentoring as well as experience, he has been able to move products into the marketplace through technical leadership, strategic thinking, problem solving and creative solutions.
Known for perseverance in solving issues at all levels and stages of the process. For nearly two years, living in China as Director of Project Engineering guided team of engineers in defining, designing, developing and sending to manufacturing motion control products for the China and US marketplace. Key involvement in the overall system concept design of one of Beckman Instruments premier blood analyzers. Designed and developed electronic sub-assemblies, led design sub-team in identifying and solving significant design issues in the project.
